@mint_to_shine I would love to find one with the #222 but it doesnāt have to be though. I was actually just looking at a list of some. The prices are ranging from $40 to over $300. I would love to be more in the $40 area š¤£

@tcl0644 Thanks for the information! It is hard to find exact numbers -they are usually sold at random. Regarding price, $40 may be a challenge but let me look! Iāll be right back!

@tcl0644 Sooooo update! #222 is not an authentic number used by LV but is popular in the inspired world because itās an angel number.
Authentic ones are numbered 3XX and 4XX. My supplier doesnāt have any of the ones numbered 222. If you are concerned about authenticity, Iād be happy to review any pics for you. Also, I can find an authentic one for probably $60. Let me know what you think!

@tcl0644 I looked at several listings and did not see one that I believe is authentic; Howe er, I am not an expert by any stretch and simply know a few things to look for on the locks.

@tcl0644 This is from one website that details a little about the locks and keys. The following is an extract ā¦again Iām not an expertā¦just trying to help!

@tcl0644 āFirst of all, the logo on the front. I don't have to tell you that quality is all about the details. That's why we love design so much, don't we? At Louis Vuitton these details are also stamped on the lock: the ⢠symbol in the logo is centered between the V and the U, the O is wide and round, the L has a short tail and two Ts in Vuitton touch each other almost every other.

@tcl0644 Then turn the lock and notice the stamp on the back as that's one of the most important (and easiest) ways to find out if the lock is genuine. Louis Vuitton padlocks have three back stamps: Louis Vuitton - Paris - Made in France
Never buy a padlock that says "Louis Vuitton made in Paris". It's absolutely fake. "Louis Vuitton Made in" is always followed by a country, never by a city.

The locks all have their own unique number, which makes it much less attractive for thieves to steal the luggage. The number on the lock refers to the key: 3xx if the padlock was made before 2009 and 4xx if it was made after 2009. That specific number can be found at the bottom of the lock. It seems so logical, just in case, the key should have the same number as the number on the bottom of the lock.ā

@mint_to_shine Thatās what I thought also. I have heard that it must have Louis Vuitton then Paris under that and must have āmade in franceā but Iāve seen so many that donāt have both. Itās almost always only has one or the other. It really confuses me

mint_to_shine
@tcl0644 I understand! Itās very confusing! Itās important to be educated when shopping luxury brands. Hope this was helpful!
May 06Reply

mint_to_shine
@tcl0644 also, one other thing. As they extended production into other countries, they do not always say āmade in Franceā. Some may say made in USA or/and 2 (?) other countries.
