Hello----I lost 75% of my hair due to alopecia and other illnesses. I tried extensions before and ran home and had to pull them out. They looked great but I did not consider how heavy they were, and with migraine headaches constantly, I knew I could not wear them. So, the question is ...have you weighed this wig. It matches what is left of my hair so nicely; my concern is that it too might be too heavy. and pull my head back. Can you weigh this wig for me....how many pounds???? thanx. audrey kay

also I see the wig hair has not ever been had heat on it.....can it handle a curling set or some kind of heat activated way to style and curl, if I wanted to? I like it a lot !thanx Audrey Kaye

@lurinda1927 hi Audrey. I can definitely relate to your hair struggles. I have found synthetic wigs can tolerate heat but on a very low setting like 250 which can help sometimes revive a wig but I wouldn’t recommend daily heat styling as it can take a toll. I find the best way to care for synthetic wigs is spritzing with water and not using a bunch of products or harsh styling.

@lurinda1927 Then an occasional gentle wash and a quality conditioner. If you spritz with water and set using not heat curling tools you’d be safer, but it could tolerate very low heat styling. There are some YouTube rabbit holes on both non heat or low heat styling tips you can explore. I don’t have a scale but I’ll borrow one and try to get that to you by tomorrow. Wigs or alternative hair def takes some getting used to.

@lurinda1927 I went through torture with extensions and they did way more harm than good. Wigs are not perfect but they’ve given me my life back and are much easier. When a wig feels too heavy there’s always the option to use thinning sheers (also a YouTube rabbit hole you can explore). I’ll get a weight on it by tomorrow. Hoping I can help get you something you feel good in!

@lurinda1927 hi the scale I used it didn’t register on, it wasn’t digital so I’m not sure what the weight is. If I find a scale that would work well for this I will let you know.
lurinda1927
If you have a weight scale, measure your weight. then pick up the wig and hold it and measure again. The difference would be an approximate of the wigs weight th.

@lurinda1927 thank you! I don’t own a scale. I tried a friend’s but it was old school non digital so it didn’t register anything readable.

@lurinda1927 I accepted your offer but it won’t let me send it out without payment. Let me know when it’s ready so I can ship out :)
