Vtg PETE APSIT "Frogs in Love" Kissing Toads Matte 1993 Hard Resin Makers Mark

Dimensions: approxiately 4.25" tall x 4.75" wide x 2,5" deep Colors: Green, beige, yellow This whimsical vintage figurine "Frogs in Love" was designed by sculptor Pete Apsit and made in 1993, six years before his death. This adorable stature is made of hard resin, hand painted and protected with a matte finish. (Hard resin is heavy and feels like a durable plaster or cement--this is a solid piece). The frogs lean into each other, holding hands, while one softly kisses the chin of the other who is smiling gently with closed eyes. You can tell these two have been together for a long time, for more than 30 years actually! They are very sweet. The makers mark is on the backside of this collectible piece and includes the date. This figurine is in excellent vintage condition. There are a few minor scratches here and there but nothing anyone would notice, unless they were looking for them (see photos). The bottom is felted to protect the surface this statue is placed on. Crosslisted.
