The reinforcements are made of 150-denier 100% nylon 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell fabric. Both the shell and the reinforced areas have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish to keep water off the outer fabric. The Gore Micro Grid interior increases breathability and lets the jacket slide easily over mid-layers. CONSTRUCTION/DESIGN: This jacket's pocket placement and streamlined design makes it compatible with a pack or harness. Hood is helmet-compatible, two-way adjustable, and has a laminated visor. The cord locks are embedded in the hood and hem to keep the jacket's profile sleek. Two external, watertight zippered front pockets and an internal zippered chest pocket allow one to stow to small items. Watertight pit zips allow for easy access when increased ventilation is needed, and the jacket's main central zipper is watertight with a chin guard to prevent chafing. The Gasket Dry Cuffs on the wrists fit smoothly and tightly around gloves to keep out moisture. Two flat front pleats allow the pockets to expand without creating additional bulk. The underarm gussets, with a modified Y-joint sleeve construction, keep the jacket in place when the arms are lifted and increase the amount of room for articulation in the shoulder area.
