These shoes are like slippers on my feet. They have a grippy rubber sole with excellent tread. Inside is a slim 2 mm insole that can be taken out if you want to replace them with orthotics. These shoes are designed for dancers using repurposed materials like jeans. In my opinion, these are shabby chic, and I love them. But I cannot dance in them because the area around the ankles is loose. I think they would work better for daily wear as an urban shoe. With the Taygra insole, they are really barefoot shoes or slippers. You can add an insole (I tested this) to get better cushioning.
