Vintage Coach Dark Navy Leather Handbag with Unique Serial Number 040-7221 which appears on only one bag - This iconic Coach Dark Navy handbag is from the 1980's is made from luxurious glove tanned cowhide. Unlike newer bags there is no style number on the Creed (see next paragraph for more information). The top of the bag has a brass zipper closure with two dark navy leather padded handles. Inside the bag there is a side pocket at the back of the bag. The bag measures approximately 13" wide, 7 1/2" tall, and 2 1/2" deep. This bag has had a single owner and is good condition and has some fading consistent with the bag’s age (see photos). This bag is made to last. How do I know that this bag is from the 1980's? The Coach Creed tells the story. The Coach Creed is stamped on inside of Coach Bags starting in the late 1960's. It’s changed over the years and there are authenticate Coach bags that don't have the creed, but that's a story for another bag.
