zptr can things fall out of the two sides not covered by the flap

jford1220 @zptr I don’t believe so. The gap is also blocked on the inside with the leather tie piece going through the front and back beads. It’s only about 1/2 inch gap and it’s pinched because of flap being secure. Also you would have to have bag completely upside down and shake hard to maybe make that happen.

zptr My hesitations are 1. I normally don't like flaps because I find them a hassle for getting in and out quickly 2. there is no outside pocket. But my back needs a lightweight bag and I have been advised backpacks are the best way to go. I only do dooneys and this one is absolutely darling. So I am keeping it on my screen. :)

jford1220 I feel the same about keeping things off one shoulder or the other and a backpack is the way to go if you don’t want to hand carry a tiny purse. The outside pocket I wondered about too, because I love the accessibility, but you can’t really get into it anyway when you wearing a backpack and you have to take off the pack. So- I think the flap is good for security since there isn’t a zipper - No pressure- obviously.
