This bottle is circa 1960s from Wheaton Glass, South Jersey, Cumberland County. Glass production in southern New Jersey, Cumberland County, originated in the late 1700s through present day. It was especially vibrant in the 19th and 20th centuries and employed a great number of people, including many of my grandparents, aunts, uncles and more. The glass industry thrived in this county, due to our proximity to the Cohansey River, Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean with our rich deposits of sand.
