The skirt is a tailor pleated style and is attached to a cotton sheet that also lines the back of the ruffle. The shams have a Slit opening for the pillow. The material was originally a Pottery Barn Chantal Toile Duvet (rare vintage), so you're getting that quality PB fabric. The picture with the button hole is the extra piece that could be used for additional pillow covers or wall art. I used it in a guest bedroom that I no longer have.
