Update 6/21: Apollo went in yesterday to have his ALT level checked to see if the new medication is helping. We should have those results next week 🙏🏼 Update: Apollos Bile Acids test shows liver function still 🎉 but here’s where it gets tricky. His level was at 23, once it hits 25+ that indicates there is no function/not functioning properly. An Internist (specialist) won’t see them until they hit the 25 mark. So the plan right now is to be on “liver disease management” and continue to give him SAMe and add in Denamarin to try to slow down the process. He will have another Bile Acids test in 5 months. If at that point he is at 25+ he will be referred to a specialist. Thank you again for all of the love, prayers and support you have shown us. Please continue to send prayers that the new medicine will help to slow down this process. 🙏🏼 Meet Apollo! Apollo has been with me for 10 years. He is my child 🐾🤍 We have been keeping an eye on him and doing tests every 4-6 months for the past year and a half. Sadly I got the news from his amazing Vet that he is officially diagnosed with liver disease. The goal is to keep him healthy and happy and out of liver failure. I will never ask for handouts, but I will do whatever I can to keep him with me as long as I possibly can. I’ve never been able to have my own children and when I say that he is my child, I say that with my whole heart.
