@lilisace I wear a 7 1/2 street shoe and found that the 6 1/2 gave me a snug fit where my toes were at the edge of the shoe. The size 7 did fit but it had more room in the toe box than I usually like and didn't want my feet sliding around inside the shoe while on the competition floor.
