Beautiful purse. I did some googling...it appears to be leather and from the 1950s. Very clean no wear to leather that I can find. It does have a cracked look to the leather, I don't know if this was original or has happened with age...no pealing or worn spots though. All the ones I found while doing my research had the same look to the leather. This is a vintage Mardane clutch purse from the 1950s, made of burgundy leather. It features a hidden mirror and a chain strap, making it perfect for cocktail occasions and evening wear. The clutch has an original design and was made in the United States. It is intended for women and has not been modified. I'm not an expert. All the information I provide is from research on the Internet.
