I found this framed original piece in a local shop in Pennsylvania, it seems to have come from a group of paintings in the closing of an art school/studio. This is an original still life piece and it's canvas/stationary was in the frame along with a advertisement for a novel released in 1940, I would date the frame within the same time period as the ad. I cannot find any other art for sale by the artist, but it is signed L L Otta or L Lotta. There is a sticker labeled "Plankenhorn's Stationery" on the back of the piece, Plankenhorn's Stationery sold business supplies, stationary, and paper media, occasionally, selling artwork during festivals and parades in Williamsport, PA; on behalf of Lycoming College's art department. Perhaps the collector got the piece from a Lycoming College art student, teacher, or college donation in the 1940's. This is an original contemporary still life piece.
