Gorgeous vintage earrings by French parurier Roger Jean-Pierre with a turquoise glass prong-set central cabochon surrounded by a halo of prong-set rhinestones, gilt metal, and a paddle-shaped lever clip-on closure. Marked made in France. Roger Jean-Pierre worked with most of the French couture houses over the course of his career. He was the recipient of the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in 1960, served as a technical advisor to Swarovski, spent several years as the director of Francis Winter, and produced the first jewelry for Yves Saint Laurent. These earrings have several distinctive features that are characteristic of Roger Jean-Pierre jewelry (the high quality rhinestones, the slight puddling from the soldering under the gold plating, the bar affixing the clip to the back, etc.), and others like it have been sold by auction houses as Roger Jean-Pierre over the years, but I also consulted an appraiser (Dr. Lori Verderame) to confirm before listing, and of course, anything sold for more than $500 on Poshmark goes through Poshmark authentication before being sent on the buyer.
