bella4 @lissaloves I really do! It’s been nuts. Went to see her yesterday. She’s not doing too good with the rehab. We’re pretty nervous. She may never walk again. Things are already tough the way they are. I can’t imagine if she’s wheelchair bound.

bella4 @lissaloves she’s going to be in there for a while. At least 30 to 90 days we’re thinking. She’s still in so much pain. She’s having a hard time moving her ankles/feet. Trying our best to encourage her and be there for her you know? Hopefully she pulls through. Thank you so much for always asking you’re so sweet.

bella4 @lissaloves thanks honey. No no way. She’s a strong little Italian lady lol she will never leave her home. She’s so independent in a sense where she does everything on her own at home. We do everything else that we can to help her. You know like grocery shopping stuff I mean, she hasn’t driven in years. but regardless, even though she uses a walker, it may take her a super long time to get from point A to point B, she still tries, and she refuses to move in with any of us.

bella4 @lissaloves and because she is that way that’s pretty much what did her in. She doesn’t listen. We tell her don’t get on ladders. Don’t do all that extra cleaning. You know just stuff like that but she can’t help it. And that’s why she fell the first time and now this is the second time. Only this time it’s more serious.

lissaloves @bella4 poor thing. She must be devastated. It’s so hard to lose your independence. I remember when my Mother went through it after she had her stroke. She couldn’t drive but still wanted to keep her car 🤷🏼‍♀️. I think it was a symbol of freedom to her.

bella4 @lissaloves she really is! All she does is cry. No matter what we do to make her happy all she thinks about is her home and how she’s in this place. Even though she has the best care. I made an appointment for her to get her hair cut/colored and styled.They squeezed her in for next Wednesday. Hopefully that’ll make her smile a bit.

bella4 @lissaloves Maybe it’ll help boost her confidence & make her push herself a little more and get through this OT. I know it’s very hard for her. She needs two people to lift her off the bed to get her into the wheelchair.

bella4 @lissaloves I can totally understand how your mom felt that way. Especially if she’s always been independent. It’s such a hard thing to lose. I think of myself the same way. I’ve always been on my own. Even though I have many siblings and my parents when they lived here. I never relied on anybody. I did everything on my own. I took care of my children on my own. I never asked anybody to babysit.
