An elegant choker, this necklace is designed with an antique gold tone chain, three beautiful 15 mm long navette rhinestones in 20mm bezel settings separated by three chains, each with a smooth 6 mm simulated pearl. The necklace has a hook clasp and is not hallmarked. Monet was founded in 1927 by Michael and Joseph Chernow as “Mooncraft”, the company adopted the name “Monet” in 1937. The brothers filled a niche for fashion jewelry that looked like the real thing and were influenced by Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli but using rhinestones that resembled sapphires, emeralds, and rubies. Liz Claiborne purchased the company in 2000.
