RARE Vintage 1930 Murano Italian Pink White Swirl Aventurine Ruffled Glass Vase Excellent condition! No chips or cracks. A few air bubbles are common in hand blown glass. Pontil can be seen on the bottom. See photos for details. This was created by master glass company Barovier and Toso. It has Aventurine (gold leaf) handles and a cut ruffle. The pink and white glass was artfully swirled to create one of the most stunning pieces you will ever see. Measures aprox 10" tall 6" wide Murano Glass dates back to 1291 when the Venetian government ordered the glassmakers of Venice to relocate to Murano as a precautionary measure to avert a huge fire. From there on, the small island emerged as one of the most prominent centers of glassmaking in the world. Barovier & Toso is the oldest glass company in Italy, and its history dates back to as far as 1295.
