Vintage L E Smith Green Moon and Stars Compote Candy Dish Bowl with Lid Great condition! Some flea bites on both the bowl and lid where they meet, and also one chip inside lid rim. Bubbles are part of the manufacturing process. See photos for details. Measures aprox 8" tall 6" wide The original moon and stars pattern began in the 1880s and has been produced by several companies since then. L. E. Smith began producing it in the 1940s. L. E. Smith Glass Co. was operated from 1907-2004. They are known for producing the first headlight lens for the Model T Ford, as well as colored pressed glass and Carnival glass.
