The Balinese word for "Offerings" is "Sajen" which is the trademark of the jewelry designed by Marianna and Richard Jacobs and produced by master jewelers in Bali. One of the many aspects of Balinese culture that influenced the jewelry designers was the daily tradition of making exquisite "offerings" to appease the gods and to create balance. These "offerings" can be as simple as a few flower petals with rice and incense in a palm leaf. A large brass Chinese coin set into a sterling silver bezel, adorned with a goddess carved from Tiger Eye stone wearing an ornate sterling headpiece with a small bezel set garnet. This is a rare Sajen piece, it is quite large, measuring 2 3/8" long with the bail and weighs 30 grams. Sajen is known for fine craftsmanship, and one of a kind wearable art pieces.
