Kissy was released from 1961 through 1964 as "Kissy, the New Kissing Doll". The Ideal Toy Corporation was the first toy company to make dolls with hard plastic. Following WWII, plastics use rapidly increased in manufacturing. Ideal's Kissy dolls have a hard plastic body except for the vinyl head & hands, Unlike most baby dolls of that time, Kissy'd body featured folds, creases and a detailed belly button. This doll is an original Kissy 22.5"toddler doll with the head and body markings "Ideal Toy Corp K-21-L and Ideal Toy Corp K22 Pat. Pend. respectively. Doll's kissing mechanism is functioning (see video clip) and makes a kissing sound. Eyes open & close as they should. Doll is in great condition and has normal wear & tear for a 60 year old vintage piece. Please review all pictures as she's being sold "as-is". Blue & White country dress is not original to the doll from what I could research. Simply gorgeous!
