In the photos- this jacket looks almost purple- but I would describe it as a royal blue. I purchased in Vancouver on a vacation that I needed just one more layer in the cold! Hardly wore it after that. Great shape and true to size. I took the last photo in the sun to try to better show color.

Yes for sure this can easily be layered over and under.
