This is so cool!!! a picture with a convex glass hung in the spare room at my grandparents house. I always looked at it when I fell asleep when I was young child. This is such a cool find.

@ferociouspoodle would that not be insanely cool?! The thing is when my grandparents passed away all their pictures went to an estate sale. So it’s likely they are still out there somewhere. The one at my grandparents house was actually my grandmother’s grandma. It was from the late 1800s 😳

@ferociouspoodle I think this is very neat. I am not interested in purchasing this at this time. I have no space for it. However I may be interested in the near future when my office opens. 😍

@smr0620 Oh Hon that is a shame about the estate sale. I am a genealogist and have my parents, brothers, and grandparents in this kind of frame but I ran out of room.. I have had my English cousins from England and my German cousins visit me. I feel bad for you to lose something like pictures that can not be replaced, especially your Grand Parents.

@ferociouspoodle and the one of my father and my uncle that were hand painted and looked like portraits. I’d LOVE to have had those.

@smr0620 If you gave me your Grandparents names, date of birth, and location Grandmother's maiden name I could look them up on Ancestry if you like. You never know. Carol 💕

@ferociouspoodle you sparked an interest. I’ve been searching. We don’t know my grandfathers real last name.
Jul 20Reply

ferociouspoodle
@smr0620 Well, if you know your Grandmothers maiden name, date of birth and location I might be able to find something. I am always happy to give it a try. 💕

@ferociouspoodle I was able to find out quite a bit about my grandmother. A little tiny bit about my grandfather. I really would like to know more about my grandfather and his side of the family. But even when we did a genealogy search where we even paid for our genetics to be tested and sent, we were able to get anything back. It’s a mystery.

Jul 20Reply

smr0620
@ferociouspoodle I want to take the pictures I have of her and get them enlarged so I can put them in a really cool frame like the ones that you have. I’d like to do it for my other grandmother as well.

@smr0620 I don't blame you. That is your heritage and your children's. I have been doing this since 2005 and have 60,000 people in my tree. I have had my English cousins visit me in Florida and also my German cousins. We keep in touch more than my cousins here. It is so important to know your heritage.

hettydawn
hi. is this beveled glass?
Jul 24Reply

ferociouspoodle
@hettydawn Yes it is beveled but it is called Convex glass from the early 1900 hundreds. The glass alone is worth what I am asking. You can not get it anymore.
Jul 24Reply

hettydawn
@ferociouspoodle thank u for that I have a beveled glass oval frame. But I really like thw style. I may be interested in this I'm going to think on it. thank u
Jul 24Reply

celeryoftime
Hi! About how deep is the frame at its deepest? :)
Jul 26Reply

ferociouspoodle
@celeryoftime I would say an inch right in the middle of frame. That is a little hard to measure. This is a large convex glass frame.
Jul 26Reply

celeryoftime
@ferociouspoodle Thank you, that's great!
Jul 26Reply

ferociouspoodle
@celeryoftime Oh I am so glad it works for you. These frames are very hard to find with convex glass and I am glad it will get a good home. Now I have to find a good size box. 💕
Jul 26Reply

celeryoftime
@ferociouspoodle Yes, it's perfect!! it's so hard to find these in good shape for a reasonable price, I'm so excited 🥰
Jul 27Reply

ferociouspoodle
@celeryoftime The other frame is a little smaller but I just reduced it. Take a look in my closet Hon.
