Vintage 1977 Platform Wedge Espadrille Sandals with Ankle Laces, Made In Spain

Good-to-excellent vintage condition Jacques Cohen closed-toe sandals purchased in Spain in summer 1977. Red, white, and blue, striped fabric (jute?), with pristine original red shoelaces to wrap and tie above the ankles. The inside is extremely clean because their owner wore them only with pantyhose, never barefoot! What’s not perfect, alas, is that the shoes’ original glue and natural rubber sole have begun to degrade. The good news is that any expert shoe repair shop you know of will be able to re-sole and clean these up for you. I imagine they are wearable as is, if kept out of prolonged excessive heat or moisture, and if you don’t mind the discoloration around the braided outer sole. We no longer have the original shoebox but these are more than likely a European size 37, a U.S. women’s size 6. Fabulous for 4th of July, of course, and equally darling on any sweet summer vacation!
