When creating your show, you will now see a required field for Show Type and can choose Live or Silent. Live shows provide the opportunity to display your items in-depth and allow you to connect with your shoppers in real-time! For silent shows, your show will default to having the camera and audio off, but you can always turn these on if you change your mind on the right side for host controls. Fun fact: Viewers stay in LIVE shows 12x longer and also average 40x more sales than silent shows thus, we only recommend hosting silent shows for personal practice. Feeling shy? There are many other ways you can host a LIVE show. You can always invite a friend up to co-host with you. All they have to do is leave a comment in your chat while you’re live and you can then click on their username and invite them up as co-host. Another way is to have your camera facing the other direction and just showcasing the item without you in frame!

ivonneth I have a problem with the silent shows I need help every time I sell an item in this silent show the customer after half an hour buying in the silent show sends a message and claims that he never bought that he has been scammed that he never contacted me show in silence my question is what happens with this problem in all my sales the same thing happened in the show in silence Please help

ivonneth @poshshowshub Please I need help I love all sales in silence but the client always buys in a show in silence, half an hour after purchasing, asks to cancel what is happening with this system problem, please help me
Jul 13Reply
creshah
creshah @ivonneth it’s probably buyers remorse or accidental bid. I have had the same issues with live sales ..after my show ends the person messages me to cancel. It’s disappointing but it happens. The policy is “all BIDS are binding” I cancel as a courtesy because I’d rather keep the item vs deal with the hassle of return or refund or bad review 🫶🏼

ivonneth
ivonneth @creshah dear good to see you This system is so bad, all the sales that have come out in my closet of silence, the show have been canceled because every time I finish the show, the client claims that I never bid and that it is a scam and they ask to cancel, I feel so frustrated because I feel like I am losing the silent time show
Jul 13Reply
creshah
creshah @ivonneth Don’t give up 🫶🏼 There are good & bad poshers.. keep doing shows you will build your audience and repeat customers. I also block the user that asks to cancel simply because I don’t want to deal with the hassle. You can also take a screen shot with each purchase ( shows username in green) keep this to report to posh ☺️

ivonneth @creshah yes all the time I capture photos evidencing the sale but yes I must continue working the silence show and little by little I learn thank you for your words 🙋🏼‍♀️👏🏻👏🏻

anj88628 @creshah same here she bid it in my live show then after she received the item she said she didn’t buy it then she contacted posh mark and Poshmark responded that they will look into it but she give me one star. That ding my 5star standing. I am willing to refund or return but she did a bad thing to me
Jul 13Reply
creshah
creshah @anj88628 Posh is really good about the case reviews especially if you note live show..you did not deserve that rating..ughhh so frustrating! I wish people would communicate so buyer & seller can come to a resolution especially before a poor rating. 🫶🏼 Don’t give up..the good out weighs the bad

bambiewilliams
bambiewilliams @vaidehi24 I'm always happy to find someone who wants to co-host. often I run for many hours and have to do everything by myself and it is exhausting. By doing things that way I never really get to show my items because it's easier just to sell theirs without any help.
Jul 15Reply
bambiewilliams
bambiewilliams @vaidehi24 So, I have to do silent shows in order to show my items or wait in many lines and Hope that the host has time to run my added in items. I have to repeatedly find different shows and weight during the show over & over again. It would be so much simpler, if our items would have the option to show slides or if I had help with the show host.

foxymoonbaby
foxymoonbaby I found my first live to be not user friendly. I did my first live because of the poshmark incentive of matching my sales up to $100 in my first show. I wish it were that simple but one had to have 3 different buyers in 30 MINUTES!!! Seasoned hosts usually need almost a half hour before they get sales going. New shows don’t get many viewers either so the odds were stacked against me but still I’m glad I tried. Although I did not achieve my goal, I did make some good sales.

Sep 09Reply
cygnetstudio
cygnetstudio @foxymoonbaby I agree. They may need out ABC like talking to a kindergarten because many of us are not tech savvy. In my first live, I was fortunate enough to have a couple of other Posher’s that I had done shows that helped me tons. Usually if you ask somebody watching other Posher’s are very helpful so don’t be afraid to ask.

kareynascloset
kareynascloset Nah, I'm good! I tried for almost 2 years and lost too many hours of my LIFE to sell and barely could get an audience!!! Even the easier silent shows I wasted my precious time. I'm happier!. I'm noticing the novelty is wearing off, AND even the popular ones who got in first and were able to gain an audience have lowered in numbers in people attending. People tired of wasting their time being entertained by dance offs, yoga, and prize games yet? plus the economy isn't helping.
Sep 09Reply
bbc760
bbc760 @cygnetstudio you can invite someone to be on the screen with you once you start your show and go to the ellipsis. Each seller would have their own shipping charge. If a buyer purchases from 2 different closets, they pay 2 charges.

tammyserea @ivonneth Hello I do Silent Posh shows to and a couple of times I gotten sales too and then they cancel their order and it is a pain because we all struggle these days to get a sale and then that happens, not only that the item can only be relished as a copy which really stinks! So I get it, if it keeps happening, maybe put “No Cancellations” in your show on each item and go from there! Have a good day and good luck!🎁🛍

ivonneth @tammyserea hi dear good to see you This is sad but I have been selling here for more than 8 years and for more than 4 years in a row each year my sales were 35 thousand a year or 45 thousand a year but since these live sales came this is a horrible disaster I have never seen a year as bad as 2024 today we are in September and my sales are 13 thousand I have not even reached 25 thousand this has been a disaster for me because it is my first income in my home
Sep 09Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @tammyserea Now, live sales, buyers want sales on the floor, everything is given away, and Poshmark, what used to be closet sales of great elegance, now Poshmark is a flea market, it is a disaster, and when I sell in a silent show, my clients also cancel because they claim that it is a scam sale, that is, the live sales system is a disaster. Does live sales work? Yes, but it works for those who sell items on the floor. It's sad to say that now, to sell quickly, you have to pay for promotion,
Sep 09Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @tammyserea This is a rip-off in the face of all sellers. Well, it's not the same. It is sad to say but the new updates came to this platform to damage the system. I hope to God that one day I can see the pohsmark of the year 2021 again. That year was beautiful in sales. I hope you can have luck in selling.
Sep 09Reply
tammyserea
tammyserea @ivonneth I know what you mean, I have been on Poshmark for at least 18 years and I have been selling a lot until this year and lately my sales have tanked. I have done everything from silent show, sharing manually where I feel like my hands start hurting and im getting carpal tunnel do to typing so much! Any way I have not done lives yet do to not having money to buy the right lighting and other stuff like number labels! Sept. Comes and I am flat lined! ( no Sales)
Sep 09Reply
tammyserea
tammyserea @ivonneth I am hoping as it gets closer to Christmas and the elections are over, things will start picking up so don’t give up! Also keep adding items throughout Social media! I sure wish Poshmark would let us bring in a program like a bot like Apps called Poshmark Sidekicks, or Poshmark VA or Flyp. But they won’t because they are like a third party and that’s in their guideline no third parties. But it sure would be helpful! Good luck in your posh business and have a great night! 🛍🎁
Sep 09Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @tammyserea If you can see my shared photos, believe me, I know what it's like to have pain in your hands. I used to take 4,000 shared sales photos daily and today I can't even do 2,000 because my hands got sick. This is what hurts me the most. I have sacrificed so much for nothing, because for the new updates, really look for information. The most successful sales on Poshmark were in 2020 and 2021 were a very beautiful year.
Sep 09Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @tammyserea I worked so hard to buy my house, but just as I told you that this year's sales have been a disaster, I also tell you that Poshmark was the greatest blessing in my family, because due to my sales in the past two years, my spreadsheets were beautiful and I was able to buy a house for my children.

tammyserea
tammyserea @ivonneth buying a house with a Poshmark business was fantastic! I know we lost my dad about 3 years ago do to Cancer and my family would use to be able to buy groceries, clothes, go on trips and buy cars and now, we are all living from pay check to pay check and doing odd jobs just to live! But like I said I am hoping sales will start picking up and who knows maybe our businesses will get a little bit better!

erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth I appreciate everything you’ve said here. ❤️ I’ve been here 7 years and live shows have completely changed this platform. I feel like PM has put all of their eggs into this basket instead of diversifying their business, and this in my opinion, is not a good business model. It also did not honor the original Poshers who built this business- from the ground up- like you. Who hosted parties; did the OG work.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth I feel as though lives still need a lot of work (there are many complaints- look above!) .. there are so many ways that sellers (and buyers honestly) are not protected in this process, and ways that we are not making the money we could be making (and used to be making). Especially in this economy. It’s hard right now. I myself have not started lives at all for many reasons… and am still not convinced. I have to think about it.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth Thank you so much for your honesty in this thread! I wish you (and everyone here) all the best in their lives and in their sales this year! 💖💖💖

Sep 10Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @erinmevans How good to see you and sad to hear this, each seller pays %20 of our sales and now to have quick sales the new system forces you to pay promotion weekly and this has never worked, this is a robbery in the face of the seller, they continue winning and we continue losing, I am so sad because live sales have never worked for me, for me making a live sale has brought me problems and my reinting has gone down because customers complain claiming that it is a scam 😭😭
Sep 10Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @erinmevans The buyer claims that they never touched the live button to buy, meaning that the system has problems. Based on my experience, these live sales do not work for me. I am sad to say that, but I have other colleagues who suffer the same as me. I hope to see Pohsmar in 2020. The old system that filled my hands with money in a month. That year I was able to close a month with 10 thousand dollars. Now I don't even sell $7 dollars.
Sep 10Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @erinmevans Good luck with your sales, I'm glad to hear from you.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth Hmmm well the buyer obviously did push the blue bid/buy now button on the live show (even if it was by accident 😏) but unfortunately there is no way of proving that; and that is one of the several downsides of lives. People also don’t screenshot (although as a buyer I always do- as proof of purchase). There just needs to be way more protection for sellers!
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth I know I’ve accidentally bid because of the placement of the bid button on the screen and swiping in and out of shows (refreshing and typing comments)- accidents do happen! Unfortunately not everyone is honest 😌 I’m sorry to hear about your incredible decrease in sales 💔 Those $3-5 starts have tanked everything- that is for sure! People expect that on the wall now- and it’s just not fair to lowball like that.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth Like would you go into Macy’s or even Target and tell the clerk- I’ll give you $3 for that? 🤣 NWT 🤣 I don’t think so. I still have to at least make my cost back 😔 I think people have become spoiled by the idea of it. Not understanding how much in fees we pay and how a $3 item means we make 5 cents! And that we pay for cancelations *still* on our end. Especially if we have 1099’s. But that’s a whole other convo 😉 Sending much 💖💖💖 and 💸💸💸 your way!! Xo Erin

ivonneth
ivonneth @erinmevans dear I hope to see my beloved Poshmark prosper like two years ago. For now, I had to look for an 8-hour job to see money come into my account, since Poshmark no longer generates anything, no sales in my closet. It's sad to say, but I paid $600 in promotions and it didn't help either. I never felt cheated by this new system.
Sep 10Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @ginak8087 I also give 5 stars but live sales have hurt me because every time I sell in a show in silence the client claims that he never bought that it is a scam and I am under my stars. Good thing it works for you. For now, for me it has been a disaster. Silent sales do not work for me.
Sep 10Reply
ginak8087
ginak8087 @ivonneth I did not say I give 5 star rating. I said I have a 5star rating with 609+ sales. I am trying to say not everyone returns and or gives bad ratings. hang in there and the sales and ratings will come but I have only done live shows.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ginak8087 So you’ve never had one buyer try to cancel in your show?
Sep 10Reply
ginak8087
ginak8087 @erinmevans No not from a live show
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ivonneth It’s understandable you feel this way! I’ve never paid for promoted closet. I knew it was something we had to pay a fee for but I had no idea how much. I don’t have any kind of budget for that so I have not tried it. Hang in there PFF! 💖
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ginak8087 You are incredibly lucky and I’ve never heard of that. In fact I’m kind of finding it hard to believe. The only way that could happen is if you are refusing them. That is your right & is definitely a way you can conduct your closet. Every other live seller I’ve ever talked to- & I know many (I’m in live shows every day) have had cancelations. People accidentally bid all the time; people also just have come into shows to scam.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ginak8087 I have been watching live shows since they began 2 years ago. I’ve been on this platform for 7 years.
Sep 10Reply
ginak8087
ginak8087 @erinmevans I have been doing live since they started. I have never had a cancer in a live. I have de8 had a cancel from a sell and yes I refund the money but I definitely am not a high viewer show and know most of My buyers .
Sep 10Reply
ginak8087
ginak8087 sorry cancel
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ginak8087 I’m really confused. So you have had cancelations that you’ve refunded from your live shows or you haven’t? I understand having a policy that you won’t cancel or refund from a live but accidents do happen.
Sep 10Reply
ginak8087
ginak8087 @erinmevans Not live show but regular sales. I have others sales other than live shows and if someone asks for a refund I have always given it. I also want a happy customer but on the live I can explain the item and it has not happened there.
Sep 10Reply
erinmevans
erinmevans @ginak8087 So if someone accidentally swiped into your show or is typing and accidentally bids on an item (both things have happened to me when Posh is glitching) you would refuse a cancelation?
Sep 10Reply
nanmabra
nanmabra @ivonneth have had accident bids in both silent & live I have so far canceled all except 1 if the buyer accepts the fault and is nice about it & honest I cancel if they’re disrespectful or lying I didn’t! You could try the not so silent where you turn on you mic people seem to like to hear the seller and have more trust In buying however in the last 3 months sales have been so so terribly slow in almost all the shows even those with over 100!
Sep 10Reply
ivonneth
ivonneth @ginak8087 @erinmevans @nanmabra Thank you for all the advice, girls, I'm glad to talk to you all. I hope I can have luck in my business this end of the year. Blessings, and I wish you many sales.

opalsandlight
opalsandlight I prefer silent shows. It’s easier to run them while multitasking. Live shows take too much time to set up and I don’t like taking time out of my day to go live and potentially end up with zero sales from it. If I’m doing a silent show and it is a flop, at least I was able to work on photographing items, study for a course I’m taking, or even cook dinner simultaneously. It’s also easier to watch them because you don’t need headphones if you are on the go.

vickydeee95
vickydeee95 so many resellers were doing shows , and I myself had purchased a couple things from lives. I gave it a try one day and my first show went very well. I've overall done well with live shows, however I will say it's hit or miss. Some shows are good and it's GREAT when people are interested and engaging in conversation, it makes it SO much more fun; but sometimes the shows are dead and people are not engaging which makes it difficult. I try to always be engaging when I'm in a sellers live .

onesiesfunssies
onesiesfunssies I personally would rather go into a silent show. I don’t feel like being called out when I first enter a show. I also don’t like waiting for items to run. I also don’t like not seeing up close photos and being able to look at items closely and for as long as I want. So, the very few times I have watched a show zi kist prefer silent.

lauraparks963 I like doing silent shows. I wish more people would attend. 1 I am not always near my inventory. 2 I don't have prep myself, my surroundings, and my inventory. I would prefer viewing a silent show. some of these sellers talk way too loud way too much.
Nov 18Reply
designer813
designer813 @lauraparks963 use the silent shows as a form of advertising and brand awareness. to showcase products. Sell for prices you are comfortable with. I do 50% OFF listing price. Just to drum up some sales, because on posh Sales equal more sales 😉

angel_wings1111
angel_wings1111 I’ve done both and it’s awkward talking to yourself on screen just as much as it is in a silent show. People do not engage with the host they sit in the show and watch and don’t talk. Very disappointing

littleaboutalot
littleaboutalot @poshmark there are so many reasons people cannot do live shows. It is physically difficult for many. we are told often that silent shows don’t work. Since it is a feature, why not highlight encourage & promote the things that would make Silents more affective?
Nov 18Reply
littleaboutalot
littleaboutalot Silent shows are hidden on the show page, so it makes it even harder for people to see us. I do mostly Silent shows because it is physically hard for me to stand for long periods, move around etc. Silents are slower, but have been good for me. Thankful for wonderful customers that hang with me.

littleaboutalot I think there are many customers who like shopping silent shows bc they move quickly, they don’t have to interact as much, they don’t feel bad to ask to see something and they can multitask or shop freely with people around 😂 for the seller it makes taking good quality pictures, videos and listings more worth it too. 💕

malaikaom1 I would like to see Posh treat all live show hosts the same. They are giving hosts with 100s of people in the room the option of giveaways, but those of us who need the traffic do not have access yet. I don't fwwl supported at all, especially at 20%

ivonneth @pmartin52 All the time, believe me, this silent sales thing is complicated. I was a saleswoman of almost 50 thousand a year and now I have not even reached 13 thousand in sales because of all this change in live sales. How sad, but poshm, it is not the same anymore.

ivonneth @pmartin52 silently it doesn't work every sale I could make was horrible, terrible, the client asked to cancel because he said that he didn't buy in silent sales and claimed that it was a scam, the worst sales are in silence, the system doesn't work

ivonneth @pmartin52 Now, live sales, buyers want sales on the floor, everything is given away, and Poshmark, what used to be closet sales of great elegance, now Poshmark is a flea market, it is a disaster, and when I sell in a silent show, my clients also cancel because they claim that it is a scam sale, that is, the live sales system is a disaster. Does live sales work? Yes, but it works for those who sell items on the floor. It's sad to say that now, to sell quickly, you have to pay for promotion

junesbutterfly I haven't been able to get people to stay in ours either way. 3 hour live show got us 1 sale and she left a horrid review at that. I'm having a hard time reaching any viewers even with name brands, general size bracket, theme, a giveaway, or even engaging banter when someone might flip through. I've tried different days, different times etc. at least with a silent it's not so draining and time consuming. The live algorithm is really harsh and not allowing sellers get to a top of a pile.
