For open-toed styles, you should order your regular shoe size. For closed-toed shoes, consider ordering a size up. Are you usually a half size? Order down a half size for open-toed shoes and up a half size for closed-toed. If you have wide feet, you may need to order up one or even two sizes.
Keep in mind that patent and leather shoes stretch with wear. If you have new shoes in one of these materials and they’re too tight, they may just take some breaking in.
