This is a vintage Pony Tail Barbie. Her face has a very large blue stain because I never played w/dolls and left her “sleeping” in her wardrobe case for 50+ years while wearing her blue plastic sunglasses. Unfortunately, the sunglasses stained her face/neck and a bit in her hair. Her hair is rather matted, rubberbands holding her pony tail are possibly original but appear dried up. Hair is brassy blonde. Not sure if that is how her hair color was originally or whether her age made it orangey brassy. Regardless, I want to say:”Hey Girl—you need a refresh, touch up & toner”. But, her body is in great /nice shape, very good hard plastic torso, but there is some light grey staining on back of leg/foot as shown in pics, corally pink (original) nails. The head is a soft hollow rubber, torso is hard plastic, extremities are hard plastic but softer texture than torso. I can not discern any cracks. Her left butt-cheek stamped with an”8”. Her right butt cheek states Midge w/tiny print under and word Barbie underneath (see photo). “Japan” is stamped under her right foot. Her “skin” has no stickiness and no odor. She comes w/her swimsuit which has a small run near her L breast. She would be a really nice vintage Barbie w/a new head. Her arm and leg joints work well. Stored in my nonsmoking home. I have been the original owner of this Barbie and recd as either a birthday or Christmas gift long ago. No original box.
