- 70s Handmade Vintage - Ivory Satin with Floral Print Throughout - Winged Dagger Collar - Ruched Bust - Keyhole Bust - Empire Silhouette - Back Zip Closure - Maxi Length - I believe it is a polyester... but not the cheap 70s kind. It actually looks and feels like a thick rayon satin. The fabric is stunning. I felt the need to say because i know some 70s poly is not the best quality, but this one is very beautiful and different enough to need mentioning <3 - The Bodice is lined, but the flowy skirt portion is not and is opaque - Fits like a Modern SIze XS / Small - Bust 34" (Will accommodate up to a 35" bust with the ruching at the bust) - Waist 29" - Hip up to 40" - Length 54" - Excellent Condition TAGS - 70s 1970s 60s 1960s VTG Vintage Authentic rare feminine casual art to wear flowy silky silk femme vacation party wedding guest fashion mod go go vibrant floral florals print botanical evening cocktail romantic ivory white green yellow mauve purple date night sexy cut out retro hand made handmade long length dress point collar pointed collar Silk-like Lustrous Fabric Glossy Material Shiny Textile Satin-like pattern 70s era Pointed Angular Wing Collar Floor-Length Dress Long Gown Full-Length Dress Ankle-Length Dress Maxi Gown Keyhole Neckline Cut-Out Bust Peekaboo Bust Keyhole Detail Cut-Out Neckline classic disco

Apr 06Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam hi there🌼 unfortunately this one does not have any stretch to it. it is a true xs/small🩷 I hope that helps!
Apr 06Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana the measurements seem like they would work for me but I'm not an xs, up to what dress size u think?
Apr 06Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam up to a true modern size small. the bust is the most important measurement on this one🩷 it goes to 35" max. the rest of the dress is quite flowy, but the bust has no extra room❤️
Apr 06Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana ok ty can u fully zip it up on yourself in back?
Apr 06Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam I have a 36" bust, I could zip it for the photos, but couldn't breath😆 the rest of the dress fit beautifully, but the bust area was very tight (too tight) on me🌼

easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana bummer I love this one, ok ty , I'm considering if maybe I'd get an alter♥️
Apr 06Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana and alter it to make bigger at bust ^
Apr 06Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam I know how you feel, I purchased this online for myself, and was so bummed it was too tight at the bust🩷
Apr 06Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana yes I have too many pieces that don't fit me anymore or I purchased recently because I think I'm still a 4 but I'm not 😭 but as you know when you love vintage sometimes you just buy some pieces to admire them for a while before you pass them along
Apr 06Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam yes absolutely!! I have pieces I just hang up on the wall to look at☺️ totally get that🩷
Apr 06Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana I hope it fits, I've just been admiring it for so long

easyglam @neutral_nirvana thank you. I'm trying to save up my credits to buy a gunne dress, but had to have this one. Do you have a little Gunne Sax collection? it's so hard finding my size
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam I LOVE Gunne dresses, but you are so right. I've sold most of the ones I've found over the years because you are so right... it is hard finding them in my size too. They were all originally made for junior sizing, so it makes sense... if they only knew how popular their brand would be 50years later!🤗 I only have one that truly fits.. but many others that were dupes at the time that truly fit🌹
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana ok if you decide to ever sell any of the dupes please tag me as I think we are a similar size, have a nice weekend ❤️
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam okay, will do! look into Candi Jones dresses, they are also perfection, usually cost less, are similar in quality... used alot of the same fabrics in the 70s. they arent as popular, so it is easier to find a variety of sizes! <3 have a great weekend as well! x

easyglam @neutral_nirvana yes, I do have one , I just bought and another I'm selling that is sadly too small. those dresses are beautiful. I actually do have a question, I'm spot treating an Indian gauze dress, I thought it was a stain but now I'm thinking it's color transfer on the delicate gauze 2nd layer. any tips how to possibly get a darker color transfer stain out of a lighter orange cotton gauze?
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana I put a bunch of different stain treatments on now I have it in the sun hoping to lighten a bit, but none of the stain treatments are really that good in my experience if the stain is color transfer
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam if the stain is from a color transfer, I've been successful at lightening through soaking the garment with Synthrapol and shout color catcher sheets.. then a full hand wash after to make sure it is rinsed really well.
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana also forgot to mention it needs to be hot water❤️
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana ok thank you I will try the texture is crinkled though so I'm afraid to soak completely, will that ruin the texture, thinking just to spot treat with the syntrapol, I have a 40s dress too with pretty yellowed underarms I must of missed when I bought, I did spit treat but didn't come out. I'm thinking maybe dawn peroxide and baking soda for the yellowing?
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana sorry to bug you, but sometimes other experienced vintage lovers have their tips and tricks and I've ruined a lot of garments experimenting over the years but also got some tricky stains out. but the yellowing on this 40s dress is somewhat deep set
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam I might just give the whole thing a soak in oxy but it has metal studs that are painted so don't want to damage that. ugh sorry to bother u but I'm just trying not to ruin this piece, lol
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam oh, thats okay.. i totally get it. im kind of a laundry nerd. i love learning new tips and tricks, and discussing what has worked for others. Cotton gauze can be tricky, they are so special and delicate. i would spot treat it first, and if that doesnt work, then a soak. i would rather soak in synthrapol than oxy on a cotton gauze piece... in my experience, oxy fades brighter colors.. but! if it is already a lighter piece, than it should be fine.
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam I think I'll give the 40s dress a full soak then redye it with fit. do the shout color sheets go right in the soak with the syntrapol?
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam as far as the yellowing of the underarms.. i have been successful with oxy and dawn, and then letting it sit in the sun. sometimes just lemon juice and baking soda and sun works as well on lighter pieces, it really depends on the fabric also <3
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana sorry I meant soaking the 40s dress it's like a satin rayon material I think, yes the cotton Indian dress I will spot treat first. 8 bombarded you with 2 different vintage dress at the same time, sorry
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana okay I appreciate it, thank you ❤️
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana thats okay! and yes, i add in the color catchers with the synthrapol and warm to hot water, depending on the fabric. the Synth needs warm to hot water to be activated. i love to make quilts, and i use this method on them as well <3
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana how do you use the syntrapol for the quilts, to prevent them from color bleed when u wash them?
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam yes, I use a lot of vintage fabrics, so when I clean them I use the Synthrapol and color catcher method, and it keeps the colors from bleeding. but I have also used it to clean old quilts and get the color bleeding out of them❤️
Sep 13Reply
easyglam
easyglam @neutral_nirvana that's a great idea, I've used vinegar to prevent color bleed on my antique pieces but doesn't really work. I've known about syntrapol but never used it but after chatting with you I will order it. vintage reselling and collecting really is such a labor of love, it's so time consuming so the little tricks are helpful. I want to get into hand smocking and embroidery. but that's so lovely that you quilt , what a great craft to know
Sep 13Reply
neutral_nirvana
neutral_nirvana @easyglam smocking and embroidery would be an amazing skill to learn! would be so fun to add to vintage pieces❤️ it's a labor of love, but so much fun❤️
