UNIQUE 80s LIZARD BROOCH

Vintage 80s pin purchased by my late mother-in-law at an arts fair. I am not sure what medium was used to sculpt this oddball cutie (I initially thought it was starched leather, but upon inspecting the bottom, it appears to be a type of baked acrylic).
