@kasaundrahoward do you mean 42” under bust like a 42C or do you mean 42” around the fullest part of the bust?
I am a 42 DDD or 46” around the fullest part of my bust and it was tight on me. I think you would be fine with 42” around.
There are no flaws. Only that the crochet part is starting to look worn - which you can clearly see in the photos.
