Vintage Palizzio Very New York Lizard Skin Handbag

Classic style, vintage Palizzio "Very New York" cognac color lizard skin handbag from the 1950s. Great everyday size with medium capacity to hold your essentials. Very good vintage condition except the handle, with is nearly torn off on one side - some solutions : 1) have the strap cut and refitted to make a shorter handle (you would lose about 2 - 2 1/2" in length), 2) have the handle replaced with leather or 3) attach a chunky gold chain to the outer hardware. Exterior and interior are in very good vintage condition - no flaws in the skin. The Interior is clean, with the exception of one red mark in the leather (see photos.) Interior has an attached coin purse and has two side compartments, one with the original flat mirror, which is also hallmarked (some of the mirror has faded.) All hardware is functional and has no issues. Palizzio hallmark is on the coin purse (slightly faded lettering) and on the mirror. Bag measurements : 8 x 11 1/2 Gusset : 2 1/2" Strap: 13" end to end
