One Laptop per Child was founded in 2005 with the goal of providing computers to children throughout the world. They developed the XO Laptop computer and had the backing of major Silicon Valley tech firms. While the idea was widely praised, the execution was not. Infighting regarding design, deployment, and the lack of tech support made the launch a failure on almost every level.
