Some fabrics are from Benartex, SSI, P&B (Pat Sloan), Blank, Henry Glass, Joann's, Cranston and others. A fat quarter is cut from a half yard of fabric and is usually about 18" by 22" from most bolts of fabrics. Some bolts include a wider selvage so only run about 40' wide. Some fabric shop clerks cut the yard a bit uneven or a bit short or longer. And then sometimes fabrics shrink after machine washing. Therefore, fat quarters can run about 17 to 19 inches wide and about 22 to 24 inches long. Most of this collection are 18x22 inches, while some are 17 x 22 inches and others are 20 x 23 inches. I believe most of these are 100% cotton. Fabric is now running from $5 to $15 a yard.
