The box was completely orignally sealed when I got it. I opened it to make sure everything was there and it wasn't damaged. I don't believe anything to be missed or damaged. Its a nice sturdy set of steps. The handles that rest on your car have thick foam on them. There's also a carabiner clip to attach to your anchor. Theres no manual, but its truly just opening the stairs up. Measures 18x13x6 when collapsed. Expands from 24" up when assembled. There's no specific size on the box, but I would say it would work up to a large breed maybe lab. *****Almost all our items are purchased at sales. We wash them, and clean them as best we can.
