Beautiful in it's simplicity, this Mezuzah Pendant Necklace Features Yemenite Pebbled Rope Filigree Art. I can only provide a guess on dating for this piece. I purchased this along with an Art Deco Star of David Pendant, and I want to say that this piece is from the 1940's-It very much looks and feels to be, however, that doesn't make sense for the time period, so my best guess is that this is Early 1950's post War, and Migration. I could be wrong, so- I leave discernment up to you as the buyer. Orign/Artist unsigned, Stamped ST. 925 This Pendant was originally on a Leather cord (at the time I purchased) While this piece could be for unisex, I am including a NEW 1.2mm 20" made in Italy Sterling Silver Cuban link chain (due to width, being more feminine than masculine) If this necklace is being purchase for a man to wear, the chain can always be repurposed (happy Wife happy Life😉). The ring bale on this Pendant is large enough to accommodate a heavier (2-2.5mm with a slim clasp) chain or cord more suitable for a man. Lovely Vintage condition, though does show signs of wear, and has beautiful naturally developed patina. Will ship with a Velvet Storage bag for safe keeping, as well as a cleaning cloth. Please see photos/video for best description, condition, and measurements. *Photos have been enlarged to show detail. "Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, Who has made us holy with His commandments and commanded us to affix a mezuzah" V1912B5814

ameryjs @drgirlfriend69 I am so sorry!... I never received a notification about your question, or I would have responded immediately. There is not a scroll inside.

skymdjd2 Hi. Very pretty. Do the symbols or characters refer to the prayer you mention at the end of your description? I ask because the characters are not similar to Hebrew letters that I’ve seen on other listings, so I also was wondering if these symbols are hieroglyphs if some kind …. Thank you.

ameryjs @skymdjd2 The symbols on this pendant are decorative symbolic motifs, which in Yemenite art almost always have significant meaning behind them. They serve as talismans for protection and prosperity. Floral patterns/motifs are often used to represent growth, fertility, beauty of life. Celestial type patterns like crescent moon shapes often represent power and fate.

ameryjs @skymdjd2 It seems (to me) the use of the braided rope to create the motifs represents unity
