I LOVE THESE THINGS! WHAT A NEAT EXAMPLE OF INTERESTING MINERALOGY, having talc replace a hard mineral like quartz!?! This is an incredibly rare pseudomorph of talc after quartz, on massive talc,(the base part) from old Germany. These types of pieces are almost impossible to find, this has been part of my private collection for many years. These pseudomorphs are quite old, Sometimes, Mother Nature provides us with amazing oddities. This specimen of talc after quartz is a prime example. Here, the softest mineral has replaced one of the hardest. The well formed, ivory colored, former quartz crystal base then a beautiful quartz twin rises vertically out of the matrix. Most specimens I have seen are very jumbly - this piece appeals to me so much with a nice twin crystal showing contrast here is striking. Rare and exotic anyhow, this specimen is actually AESTHETIC as well, which is something you do not see often for the find. This is a self displaying quartz with clay included base and chlorite in tip the tip is not absolute perfect
