Popular home decor a century ago from the era of art deco and art nouveau, these four motto pictures are in remarkable condition in spite of the fact that each is approximately 100 years old or more. The largest is 7x11 inches and the smallest is 4.5x7 inches. Original frame with a neat vintage patina.

tizalish @deborahmpa, —I’ve collected them over 30 years— and sadly it’s time to downsize. I’m sure you know they’re called motto pictures and they were a popular decorating trend in the early 1900’s. I can’t part with the ones that were in my grandmother’s and great-grandmother’s homes, but it’s those pictures that have led me to collect the ones offered here. The only history I can provide is that I found them in antique stores.
