This heavyweight 100% wool cardigan sweater is sure to keep you toasty warm & dry due to the insulating and water repellant qualities of the wool, cultivated by generations of Nordic farmers from a hardy breed of Icelandic sheep. Knit in black & white old-school Nordic ski sweater style with intricate and traditional Nordic patterns of snowflakes, bird's eyes and geometric patterns, embellished with colorful accents. Basic round collar with soft knit olive green banding (so as not to itch your neck) that continues down the front placket, all bordered by an embroidered floral design in deep warm tones of red, orange, yellow, olive green and pops of white French knots on black boiled wool. Front placket features 7 detailed cast pewter clasps to close. Sleeves are embellished with a 6" deep boiled wool "cuff" with ornate embroidery and inset velvet ribbon accents. The hem features a 3.5" high border similar to the cuffs. So many beautiful details! An heirloom piece to be sure.
