Carved Jade Pillow Headrest - Dragon Design Ancient royal Chinese use jade pillows while sleeping to cool down the head's temperature. The shape of the pillow massages certain nerves in the neck that Chinese believed would keep them healthy. The pillow opens to reveal a small compartment to contain important items while asleep. This pillow measures about 9¾” x 3½” x 3½” tall. Top can be removed, room to store small items inside. Age and provenance unknown, presumably from China. It has some damage marked with red arrows in photos. No attempt has been made to make these flaws less visible. GBR-12-6p
