In 2010, Finn Mooney, only 10 years old at the time, had been through 13 heart surgeries. The same year, the Doernbecher Freestyle Project partnered a Nike designer with Mooney to create a shoe to represent his story. Stitches on the Nike Swoosh mimic Mooney's own stitches, while the heart graphics and words 'thump thump' reflect Mooney's perseverance and strength.
