the app likes to cut off my pictures when taking pictures for measurements. approximately 27 to 28 in per necklace.
I know these are African handmade beads, I don't know if I'd classify them as trade beads, I don't know whether their origin is Congo or Kenya but I've been told both in the comments.
these are extremely old and vintage items, for beautiful necklaces in total. purchased from a Congolese wholesaler that has been in my family for three generations, they've been a climate-controlled storage for over 25 years. never used or worn once.
made on handmade twine.
most of the tags have fallen off due to old age

@anonie_moose thank you! I teach West African drumming and am starting to explore more or the surrounding culture, trades, and history. Having some interesting African materials and items in the studio seems like a good way to explore. I just got some sand cast beads that came from Senegal, and learning more about that. And just received some Krobo beads from Ghana. some new and engaging things. I think these will be a great addition.
