The History of Homer Laughlin
The Homer Laughlin China Company began as
"Laughlin Pottery" in East Liverpool, Ohio,
USA. The company was started in 1871 by the Laughlin brothers, Shakespeare & Homer. In
1879 Shakespeare left the company. That was when William Edwin Wells joined Homer & seven years later the two incorporated. Homer Laughlin China company is still in business today. Along the way they used a variety of different back-stamp's including, but not limited to: American China, Craftsman Dinnerware, Original Mansfield Dinnerware, Paette Ware, The Pearl China Company, Georgian Dinnerware, Hercules Hotel China, Kenmark China, Interstate Sunrise Ware &
