annmaries1 Can I asked which cobbler you used? It looks amazing. I have a vintage speedy with sentimental value and I want to replace the vachetta.

jenjen10372 @annmaries1 I am sorry. I just saw your comment. Not sure how I Issued it. I used Cobbler Concierge. They are excellent. You can also use the LV app to get a quote from LV on repairs. I hope that helps!

youragentsherry The two indentations on the front top of flap... is that just from storing it? Are there any other scratches, marks, stains?
Nov 06Reply
jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry what two indentions are you referencing? All of the leather has been replaced and is brand new. Normally a bag of this style would have indentions on the front leather piece because the brass flap tends to flip up and people store it in that position thereby leaving indentions in the leather. This purse, however, has brand new leather and does not have those indentions. Please let me know if you are referring to some other section of the bag.

youragentsherry Will those creases go away eventually, and is there any damage in the crease area like (cracking)?

youragentsherry @jenjen10372 Hi Jen, I'm very interested, but I want to get your thoughts on if those creases will eventually go away?
Nov 10Reply
jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry I am so sorry! I don’t know why I have missed your messages. Yea I think with time and regular conditioning the indentions will release. I actually think they are a little less noticeable now than they were when I took the photos.

jenjen10372 If you are interested and if the weather is nice tomorrow I will retake the photos of the creases so you can see how they look now.

youragentsherry On the closeup of the 5th pic after the video, the hardware on the front looks repaired. Was it painted of some sort? What is the hardware made of?
Nov 15Reply
youragentsherry
youragentsherry @jenjen10372 That would be great... thanks. And of the hardware would be great too. I sent another message just before this one.
Nov 15Reply
jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry no nothing on the hardware was replaced or repaired or painted. The cobbler replaced the leather but the hardware is the original hardware without alteration.
Nov 15Reply
jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry the hardware is brass. In the vintage bags LV used brass.

youragentsherry @jenjen10372 We're you able to take more pics of the creases, or lack thereof?
Nov 15Reply
jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry plan on doing it shortly. I will message you when they are posted or I will send them to you in the chat.

youragentsherry @jenjen10372 Thank you, and if you can get the hardware too, 🙃that would be great.

jenjen10372 @youragentsherry I posted two more pictures of the gussets where the flap folds. When I was packing the bag back up after the last photos I saw tiny cracks in the canvas of the gussets. This is common with St. Cloud. But before we finalized anything I wanted you to see them. I am sorry for not noticing them before. After you look at the photos let me know if you are still interested.

youragentsherry @jenjen10372 First off, thank you for being honest. 🙏 Do you happen to have pics, and is there a way I can keep it from getting worse. Thank you again.

jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry I always try to be completely transparent. I have been on the opposite end and I don’t want to be the reason anyone feels the way I felt when that happened. I posted photos on the listing. Let me know if you don’t see them. Bc that means I did something wrong.

youragentsherry
youragentsherry @jenjen10372 Yeah, they're longer than I expected. I'm going to pass. It is a beautiful bag, though. Someone is going to be very happy. Again, I greatly appreciate your honesty.

jenjen10372
jenjen10372 @youragentsherry Regarding how to stop it from getting worse… you might consider coating it with a matte acrylic finisher. If you want me to, I can do that for you. Other two things I would suggest is keeping the canvas hydrated (add a light coat of a leather conditioner about every 3 months). And don’t over extend the flap - meaning don’t bend it all the way over.

jenjen10372 @youragentsherry Totally understand! I hope you find one that you will love!!
