Gorgeously illustrated by Hildebrandt with 29 full-page plates, of which 20 are stunning full-color paintings; 9 b/w drawings. In addition, Hildebrandt has a provided a front cover paste-on and frontispiece, both in magnificent full-color. There are additional line drawings by Jean Scrocco of a snarling wolf, and a several bats, including a big one on the rear endpaper. Bound in the original black cloth, with bright gold and blood-red foil stamping on the spine and front cover. Hardcover. Fine condition/No dust jacket, as issued.
