LIMOGES PLATE.Ornate, hand-painted Limoges plate with gilt outline, painted peach medallions with red roses around the inner rim, and a seafoam green border trimmed with gilt edging. Yellow roses are painted around the plate, on the outer rim and inside, alternating with garlands of gilt leaves and gilt leaves and flowers. Double false handles molded with gilt medallions. The plate measures 9 1/4" from handle to handle. Good condition, no chips or cracks and minor gilt wear in spots, particularly around the peach medallions, and displays beautifully. Limoges France factory mark with a star, (Mark 2) a mark used by Coiffe after 1891 until 1914, and studio decorating mark LBH Limoges France, studio unidentified, used circa 1890.
