Antique 14k gold letter M locket pendant alphabet solid oval initial seed pearls

Gorgeous antique letter M locket Tiny white seed pearls are set in solid gold. It is a special locket made to last and pass down the generations of your family. It likely dates from the 1870s to 1880s Victorian Era. The bail loop and outside of the locket acid test as at least 14k gold. The outside of the locket held in the acid at 18k, but dissolved a bit. I did not test the inside frame around the glass window. In my photo of the acid test, the streak on the left is the bail loop, and the streak on the right is the outside of the locket. The little glass window swings out on a hinge. To open it, catch your fingernail on the edge of the frame near the clasp and pull up gently. It has some wear, dents, and its original darkened gold patina, but nothing major and lovely as is. I have included a floral insert that you can replace with your own photos or lock of hair. The locket snaps shut securely and the hinge is good. Total weight: 6 grams. Measures 1.5" from top of bail loop to bottom of locket. The locket part measures 1" long, not including the bail loop.
