This tile is an underglazed ceramic piece produced in the workshops of the Iznik Foundation in Iznik, Turkey. The tile is handmade, hand-designed, hand painted and hand glazed using the same raw materials and techniques of 400 years ago in Iznik. This tile is a product of the efforts of the Iznik Foundation, which was established with the aim of promoting the cultural and artistic treasures of Iznik and of reviving its traditional arts os making. Tile is blue and white rumi and hatai floral pattern, 9" square, approx. .25 width and weighs approximately 2.5 lbs without the blue velvet case which is included with the purchase. The tile is signed and depicts Marmara University in the center. Excellent pre-owned condition. No chips or cracks.
