Vintage 1920 “Flapper’s” Enameled Chainmail Evening Bag

Over 100 years old, this gold tone enameled metal mesh bag belonged to my grandmother photographed w/it in 1919. No makers mark. The mesh is as light and floaty as butterfly wings…swishes in waves with movement. Predominantly gold black white and green with bits of red/pink in an Art Deco geometric design. The enameled frame has four hinges — opens enough to fit in hand (very thin 4” deep X 6” wide) — fits only a credit card small lipstick and a tissue. Original silk lining was in total shreds so recently relined. The chain handle is 7” long, sturdily constructed and all in excellent condition. Definite brassy odor.
