1940s or 1950s?
"Bed jackets were a nighttime staple in the ’40s. Bed jackets had two uses. One use was a short covering to wear over sleepwear while taking care of her nightly beauty routine. The other use was a light layer of warmth for cool evenings and mornings. Many movies portray women sitting up in bed and reading with a bed jacket on."*
I machine washed this on gentle. Still in great shape as to seams, material. No flaws in the construction of this garment.
It had a lot of rust-like staining on the lace and trim which I first treated with lemon juice, soda and vinegar., which got a lot of it out.
Pictures reflect some dark staining and a few spots on rest of garment.
In the light the lace almost looks like it was all tea color stained and the darker spots don't look that odd.
I am selling as is and hoping either
1. Someone with vintage clothing experience might be able to do more with this OR
2. A fashion student might want to deconstruct for the pattern.
No size, care or fabric label.
Lots of gathering across back and front panels so I did lots of measurements to help in sizing.
