Taxco Mexico sterling silver earrings by silversmith Isidro Garcia Pina. The design motif is classic, early Mexico, with raised silver above an oxidized background. The earrings have dangling bar & spheres of sterling silver for nice kinetic movement. The earrings close with well working screwbacks. Circa 1950s. Weighs 14 grams.
According to Hougart's book, in 1943, Isidro Garcia Pina named his new taller after his daughter Maricela and most of his work was executed in 950 silver. Pina apprenticed with Damaso Gallegos, another well known Taxco artisan.
