Smoky topaz or quartz ring with yellow gold band

Classic (maybe vintage) smoky topaz or quartz ring. Not 100% sure if it's topaz or quartz. Gold band, Nice weight. There are no markings that read 10-14-18 karat so I'm not certain which it is.Looks like some of my 14 K pieces if I had to guess.
